I must admit, it does sound quite similar. But that doesn't change the fact that both songs are awesome. If Coldplay did plagiarize Satriani and he sues them, they sure can pay without problem.

you really are ignorant. Joe satriani is one of the most influential and talented guitarists of all time. he has made a bigger impact in music than coldplay ever will. dont start with the whole polular shit because that would imply that the jonas brothers are talented. think before typing.

I'm a big Satch fan, and I also happen to hold a Master of Music degree from UNT, a prestigious music program. Yes they're very similar, but let's be honest. In popular music, there is only so much you can do with a I-IV-V based chord progression. There are bound to be similarities. A nice melody is likely to be found by more than one musician. It happens all the time. I wouldn't make a big deal of it. I suspect it was purely coincidental. |
