Thank you for your question. The answer really depends on where you are at with making your string. Typically after you make your loops you do the twist, and that keeps the string together. It's important that you keep your twists going in the same direction.

The problem with craft string is strength. Bowstring material is very strong. We can only syggest using bowstring material for making bowstrings. Still, you can learn HOW to make a string by practising with craft string. Keep trying, once you understand it, it's really cool to be able to make your own bowstrings! todd smith

i tryed making a small scale version of this but it keeps on unravaling ever tho i used wax but then again i used the string that ppl make thos colorful braslets in summer camp.i got the stuff from a crafts store that had alot of floor mats / rugs in it and like sowing stuff.... im a very cheap person i wouldnt spend money on bow string material onless i no wut im doing.

I love archery. When I get my camp better established, I'm making all my own gear right down to the string.
