ive been learning scream aim fire, and im actually having a lot easier time with the sweeps in the solo

when you pull your fingers off the strings when rolling it makes a note. How can you stop this? Some people say you lift your fingers up a little bit so your not playing ths string but you are muting it. Is that right?
