The Rinspeed "Splash" in an amphibious hydrafoil sports car. It recently set the record for such a vehicle crossing the English Channel by doing it in 3 hours and 14 minutes. It's the strangest thing to see a car drive in and out of the water.

The prop is on a swing keel and when its retracted there isn't any water propulsion except for what the tires provide

All that salt and sand works wonders on the wheel bearings and exhaust system I bet!

They have to pull it up to hard sand for the wheels to get traction. The propellor unit is off and retracted. Water to land transition better at a dock/boat combo.

It looks fast enough in water, for a car! Rinspeed rocks.. I wouldn't buy that over the ZaZen, but still, it rocks..

Because the aerofoil system they have in place, I suspect it doesnt work properly unless they are out, so when it comes to the beach..it has no power to get it back out of the water. It probably has two different systems, one propeller and the other through the wheels...

this is retarded
