Google Tech Talks September 2, 2008 ABSTRACT We have been brought up to believe that the mind is located inside the head. But there are good reasons for thinking that this view is too limited. Recent experimental results show that people can influence others at a distance just by looking at them, even if they look from behind and if all sensory clues are eliminated. And people's intentions can be detected by animals from miles away. The commonest kind of non-local interaction mental influence occurs in connection with telephone calls, where most people have had the experience of thinking of someone shortly before they ring. Controlled, randomized tests on telephone telepathy have given highly significant positive results. Research techniques have now been automated and experiments on telepathy are now being conducted through the internet and cell phones, enabling widespread participation. Speaker: Rupert Sheldrake Rupert Sheldrake, Ph.D. is a biologist and author of more than 75 technical papers and ten books, the most recent being The Sense of Being Stared At. He studied at Cambridge and Harvard Universities, was a Fellow of Clare College, Cambridge and a Research Fellow of the Royal Society. He is currently Director of the Perrott-Warrick project, funded from Trinity College Cambridge.

"oh this is perfect I think I will develop this skill in this species right now". Perhaps, if we become to "connected" our Minds will become too entangled so as to be severely disrupted unless however evolution were to take it to the next stage and humans would become closer to being as one-mind which seems highly improbable for humans(individuals).

(cont.)...thus distracting from such these abilities. Even though we lilve in groups, we do not behave as in packs or need this ability as often as birds. Evolution is not perfect and this may be just a shortcoming of evolution's inability to simply say,

I think, possibly, that there are explanations for certain species having lesser abilities in group or even individul telepathy such as birds. I think, as for humans, our self-consiousness alone is an explanation for this. It alone may interupt this connectivity of the minds within a field. Also, we use language and symbolism more than any other species, thus

Done that. It's disturbing in person.

I worked with a lady many years ago who not only had a very sensitive power to tell when someone was staring at her from behind but also could tell what emotion they they were feeling toward her. She demonstrated this to me during many events having to do with office politics that showed me that she was 100% accurate every time by my standards, I sent Dr. Sheldrakes assistant who answers his email her name and address, she sent me back a surprisingly casual email thanking me for the info!

David Bohm wrote quite a bit about viewing the universe and the mind both in holographic terms. In this way there's a connection that we all share somehow. You might like some of his books. Also Talbot's _The Holographic Universe_, although he falls into more of a new agey category, he still gets the point across.

Supposedly-anectotal stories about animals and their owners have been circulating for years. But Dr. Sheldrake wants to co-ordinate these into hard, objective evidence. More power to him!

If you're learned enough to have read the books by the other British researcher,Dr. G.D. Wassermann...you know that Dr. Sheldrake is talking about "paranormal matrixes" which connect all life. Many times, there have been inexplicable co- incides of people/groups getting similar ideas at the same time, though separated by thousands of miles. This research is therefore quite valuable.

the group field model was interesting, this is true for football players, tactical military sqauds, etc. Enough practice and enough watching and learning from your partner or group seems to condition your minds together in order to work more efficently...
