Zanzibar, you need to school yourself on the nature of dance and how it works, and then you need to school yourself on Bob Fosse himself. Bob wore his influences on his sleeve and was all about bringing various styles and cultures of dance together. Any great choreographer does exactly the same thing. If Bob Fosse was a crook, then so were Katherine Dunham and Alvin Ailey! It's not about copying, it's about bringing moves into a new context, making them understood while retaining their power.
