the label hated the album, and wanted it to be completely remixed. The band didnt like how the bass and vocals sounded in hsb, and all apologies, so they remixed them.

Not sure who you're referring to, but the label wanted to remix them, not the band...why do you think Kurt put that "listening guide" or whatever with the EQ suggestions on the album -- the label's mixes and mastering changed the recording in Kurt's eyes.

no, actually they wanted to remix a couple of the songs because they didnt think they sounded right.
