Stephen Malkmus playing a song with a pavement cover band strikes me as hilarious for some reason. Pretty good epitomization of Pavement, really. this song is great

That is indeed a Korean band - I forget their name - which played Pavement covers in addition to their own tunes. They were pretty good. I was there on 7 January 2002: the ticket's in front of me now. The place was packed. Malkmus shared the bill with Mary Timony. After the show, he signed CDs - mine included - and posters. A great, freezing night with Mr Malkmus!
