I lived through the '90s, son, and the word 'alternative' was just as much of a meaningless marketing term as it is now. Thanks for basically agreeing with me and still telling me that I'm wrong, though.

That's just what I said, pop is conventional and conforming. Besides the most independent and extremely experimental musicians, every band incorporates some amount of pop into their music to attract consumers, it's called the "pop hook", why do you think this video has 2 million hits. Beck is still generally alternative however because of his unique style and totally different sound than any other musician in 1993. Not to impede on your dick sucking contest with yourself or anything.

Alright, fine, this is my last word on the subject. He is an "alternative rock" musician, and an extraordinarily talented one at that, OK? I was never trying to insult him, remember I own all of his albums and still enjoy them.
