No mason did do that other version when there is only a classical guitar. If Clapton did it, on witch album is it on and where on his discography? I thought for very long that it was Clapton because the mp3 I downloaded said Clapton, but it's very easy to change the name. and there is a video on Youtube where Mason plays that version. this song is also on a Bruce willis movie called The story of us. and on the soundtrack it's Mason williams on classical gas.

Clapton did record it, Mason only has one recording that went public and that has a orchestra.

Clapton never recorded classical gas, the version you think is of Clapton is actually played by Mason williams, who wrote this song. But in my opinion, Tommy's version is the best!!
