Don't give up so easily, there is a simple answer to your problem! You have a range and scale issue, which is pretty common in aging analog synths... and quite possible to fix even by the non-technical! Your SH has forgotten the range of frequencies that define an octave, is all. There should be a trimpot inside of the device which allows you to redefine that range of frequencies. See if you can find a technical manual for the SH-1000 online, and it will show your the procedure!

in my haste to post this is mistakenly typed B# above...it should just be "B". it's a halt step off I guess. So if I wanted to play a mid B to high B octave, Id play Mid B to high B-flat. Its really annoying. maybe my 350 bucks was NOT well spent.

HAve there ever been any issues with the synth falling out of tune?? Heres what Im saying...if I want to do a full octave step from middle C to High C, the High C is not actually a C...I have to go from mid C to B# so it sounds right. somewhere in the octave a note is missing. adjusting the pitch knoband the tune dial on the back of the machine doesnt help. Any ideas about this? I try letting the machine warm up, but still no difference. THANKS

Why is this a piece of shit to you? It has limited functionality compared to some other synths, to be sure. However, it has a great analog tone and certainly more functionality than people give it credit for. Also, you might check out my other videos... I have had a chance to explore a couple other analog synths. ; )

What a piece of shit! So many people think that because a synth is analogue it's good. Not true. Analogue is amazing but only with certain synths. This is junk but has a Roland badge, about the only good thing on it.

If you meant to ask whether the SH-1000 provided better analog sound and analog functionality, then the answer is absolutely yes. : ) I guess you'll have to be clearer about the parameters of "better."
