My point is that it is trespassing, Ive told the person who made this video that I do not condone it, and I did give him some tips of what to look out for and told him who to contact for formal permission. They may be alert, but even me, a railroader, has had trains sneak up on me, it happens. If your theory is of risk in a full life, basically you are saying throw caution to the wind, do dangerous things, and your life will be more full, you can enjoy life and still be safe while doing it.

you dont think the greaser presents a hazard? stopping on dry rail is tough enough, let alone wet, or greasy rail, a machine weighing 23000 lbs, can slide for 1500 feet after running over a greaser.

Most people hit by a train are in a car either stalled on the tracks or trying to beat the train at a crossing. pedestrians are usually either committing the act of suicide or too comfortable with their close proximity to a passing train. I think these guys in this video are being very alert to the dangers of an approaching train. And Yes I've been eye witness to train accidents and had a close friend commit suicide by stepping in front of one. There is always risk in a full life lived.

It's still trespassing, no matter how you justify it. Not cool at all. I'd like to introduce you to some of my brothers in the locomotive who have seriously injured or killed people who were trespassing on railway property... or even some of their families, since quite a few of them can't take the pain and end up taking their own lives -- all because someone decided to use railway property as a shortcut, a walking path or otherwise decided that the danger isn't real. Just stay off the tracks.
