Ordellsmith - you need educating so let me help. Sure, playing live instruments is a talent but just because you can play live instruments doesnt mean your gonna have a great track. What the like of Primo, Pete Rock, 9th Wonder, Dilla and others do is true genius. To be able to go through old (and I mean old) records and to take certain parts of atrack and reform it into another takes one hell of a creative mind. Filtering samples to make it sound right is dedication.........and time consuming.
