it's all about the money

Stock prices are based on PROJECTED EARNINGS. They already made their money on oil and that is why T. Boone Cherry Pickens is out trying to pass along the next rip off scheme for the beggars.

JiveDadson, it is funny how these people believe the talking points of Olbermann and Pelosi instead of reading up on it themselves.
Because we have actually done a little research, we get thumbs down.

wait, so you are saying its more expensive to drill for oil on domestic land that has it, but not in anwar which they could only drill part of the year, is not easy to get to, and wont result in useul yields for decades?
Also, give me your proof that their is less oil, or more expensive oil in any of the leased lands or are you just playing devils advocate for the oil companies?
waltermh111 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
you dont like to listen do you?
his point was the house wanted to give the companies permission to drill. So the companies could get the permits. Are you saying hes lying and such a vote never happened?

Halliburton and KBR should be charged with multiple counts of involuntary manslaughter for the criminally negligent homicides of each of the soldiers that were burned, electrocuted and killed by their shoddy work and reckless disregard for our soldier's lives!

Hahaha. Sure enough. Red thumbs down. Funny.

he's right that the big oil companies make a lot of money, becuase they are huge..but the profit margins aren't actually very high.
also, this domestic drilling thing is silly - you can't simply drill anywhere and find oil..the oil E&P crews don't want to drill on some of those leases either because there is NO oil in the ground there, or becuase it would be too expensive to extract the oil (i.e. it would cost $150 to extract a barrel of oil that you can only sell for $130)

P.s. I have no interest, no long or short position, in Exxon stock (XOM). I am just relating the facts. |
