As for this guy? It takes courage to take a stand against what you perceive as injustice. He may very well fall foul of the official secrets act (which he voluntarily signed) which some would say is correct. If he does pay and knew he would then his courage atleast should be acknowledged even if you disagree with his stance.

The handing over of detainees is something that is not/should not be a problem between allies. So bleating aout that holds no water. However, if it should arrise that UK forces detained suspects, transfered them to US custody, and then those suspects were either tortuted or killed (under law or not), then that is very serious as it breaks the law as it stands in the UK. A person may not be transfered from UK to that of another country if it is suspected that this will happen.
