I want to check out that shop, especially at Christmas, your description sounds like a place in time, would love to experience it. =)
Sometimes Mr. Spooner looks like an old lady in drag....lol

There's a shop in Derby called Hunters which is so much like this shop. The lift inside has been there since the 60s, its window decorations haven't changed in 30 years, all the furniture and way of doing everything is so old-fashioned - but I love going there. You should see it at Christmas, they get the Christmas decorations out first used in the 70s.

It's because Spooner had to replace Lucas, but they didn't want to give the character up, so they just had him try to do everything Lucas did. So much for commitment to a role.

1:01 Try running two different heavy-class departments by yourself and they're both on opposite sides of the store.
1:11 Sexist bordering.
5:43 An ingrown toenail is "lady's things"? Did she have it in her vagina?
5:50 But she's not redundant. Miss Brahms is working an entire department alone without her.
6:42 There's some new definition of redundant?
7:48 This is why I hate solicitors.
8:36 Ah, the meat market.
10:14 Why don't they try interviewing unemployed people?

because the floor was originally only for menswear, then the ladies moved in, so I suppose the men needed more staff from when they had the whole floor |
