my fiance knows i'm a period film fanatic. i have seen both 'the age of innocence' and 'the piano' more than 2x (each) this year alone. unfortunately, anna paquin had more range to play up to than winona ryder. and anna delivered it. that's pretty damn good for someone younger than the other nominees! she's been busy with other commitments. while winona has been busy being committed! i still think there's potential in winona.

"shut up"- wow that's great defense. Anna sadly, is not amazing. She really isn't that great of an actress, and the only real reason why she is in stuff now is because of that Oscar. She's never studied acting, and people today barely know who she is (aside the Oscar). Winona deserved to win.
