1984, Year of too many changes... Lum and other characters from this anime are updated to "Ranma 1/2", "Inuyasha" or "Maison Ikkoku" drawing and animation style, and the Animation is Pseudo 3D, 3D or 2,5D for too many Special Effects. (See 01:21 to 01:23 in the way transforming into a Star) The 3D Artifacts are used in conjunction of the old Scanimate Artifacts in 1981 and with the New Scanimate Computers in 1984.

This was probably the most romantic and "Western" of the opening themes, with the majority of the lyrics in English. I've heard the "extended" version- it says a lot about Lum's ongoing relationship with Ataru.......
