That reverend was pretty unbelievable. Nondeluded people don't need to get their morals from a fictitious god to have them. I agree with Killrsheep, and I would add that in addition to fear, it is mere weakness of the human mind that causes many theists to think that atheists have no morals. We make up 10% of the population, and yet we're only 1% of the criminal population. That other 99% are religious in some way, shape, or form. So much for the morals of god.

epic fail on answering that last question, where do i get my morals from??? i dont get my morals from god, no one does, my morals come from our own experience with our parents and basically every human we come in contact with, HOWEVER some religious people FOLLOW those morals bcuz of FEAR OF GOD, atheist follow their morals bcuz we like living with those morals and we believe in them, note that i said SOME religious ppl do it bcuz they FEAR GOD, SOME....

he was preparing for bullets to start flyin man. thats why he stopped that. i would have really interested to see that argument go further cuz they always stop them before they get good and honest and to the point

Humanism indeed advocates elitism. From the comfort of our structurally-sound buildings we pontificate on the unacceptable behavior of the impoverished. [Is humanism practiced in your family? Are you living far below your means? Are you setting the example? Why not limit yourself to one meal per day? How are you mending your bleeding heart? Is your home heated? If so, why?]

People believe Science doesn't create things like afterlife etc.
But who is anyone to say exactly what Science has in store for us?
Maybe not everything can just be figured out.
Maybe there's way more to it all than anyone can figure out

This whole thing about evidence annoys me.
There's no solid proof I enjoy Pizza.
I can give my word but for all someone knows I could be lying.
And who's to say you can't live this life and any other life you may get to the full?
People don't have to confirm to Atheism or any religion.
I believe in God, I believe in Science.
I don't think life's as easy to figure out as one thing or the other, otherwise it would be meaningless

Whenever people tell me I don't have any morals because I do NOT beleive in any god or supernatural force, I laugh. Mostly because, when I look around, I see that I have better morals and ethics than the good ol' religouse folks. It's kind of funny how people think that just because they worship something, they can do whatever and their god apparently forgives them. |
