Do you know what irony is?
IdiocyOverdose (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
I disagree. I think it encompasses loss of more than romantic love, though obviously it's not my job to interpret Royksopp's use of the word "love" in this context. Some of the other verses, at least, seem to support my opinion, though on the other hand they could simply serve as a preface to yours.
Either way it's a very melancholy song.

They are Norwegian - from Tromsø to be precise.

I Love Royskopp

The lyrics are about love lost through travel... if I get it right.
The song itself has nothing to do with alienation through modern systems. In fact, it's another love story.
While this does nothing to proof the opionions of neither the pessimists or optimists about this video, you can at least state that the video hasn't been based on some dark Orwellian message in mind.

And everywhere I go,
There's always something to remind me
Of another place and time
Where love that travelled far had found me.
We stayed outside til two,
Waiting for the light to come back,
But hid in talk I knew,
Until you asked what I was thinking.
(Chorus)
Brave men tell the truth,
A wise man's tools are analogies and puzzles,
A woman holds her tongue,
Knowing silence will speak for her.

they are from norway, right?

You misunderstood the whole point.
"Remind Remind Remind me"
It's a wakeup call. The video clearly shows how predictable our dailyday has become and how digitalized everything is.
The video and the song is in my opinion ironic.

I really don't see why some people take one look at this video and go all preachy about Globalism, modernisation and how life has become so cold and systematic.
A video like this could have been made 70 years back, this doesn't say anything about isolation through technology and life has been complex ever since it started.
All this video is about, is how wonderfull all those modern, understandable systems fit together to form one interchangable whole.
It's very exiting actually.
