"time travel" is just travel to parallel universes which have time that's out of synch to ours. if we kill our grandfather, it's okay! that's cuz we only killed grampa in a PARALLEL UNIVERSE. so if i was a time traveler, i'd kill LOTS OF PEOPLE and laugh and laugh and laugh, and then i'd steal their money and i'd be INFINITELY RICH, BITCHES!!! Maybe time travel back requirers following the path via which you (or object) arrived (maybe the whole universe has to roll back.) Maybe time travel forwards is just speeding up perceptual time. Maybe there is only NOW (if you rely on empirical evidence), I've never reached tomorrow. Theory is another word for 'maybe' after experiments.
