Without capitalists, and with a collectivized economy workers would go to work knowing they'd still have a job tomorrow. As for capitalism, if you come to my area its almost seems like every week another company goes out of business. Been seeing a lot of that recently.

Look at the third world? China? Are they paid well for their work. The work that is the fundament in our western and sickly rich part of the world?
I do not think it will lower our productivity to let the workers own their work. This fundamentaly different way of production and owning rights will not change over night! We need to convince the workers that a stable and fair system will be the best for all. That encourage productivity. The individual profit on a sustainable and strong community.

Well, I don't see either USSR, Cuba, Vietnam or China as communist nations. I'm talking about a socialistic rule by the PEOPLE.
Under capitalism the owners need to maximize their profit, and by doing that they need to pay the workers as little as they can. If the workers own their own labour, they can self take out the surplus of their production.
