surprised people are being so negative on this poem. it is very well done. great use of metaphor and the dialet seems pretty accurate to New Orleans (regardless of race)
Although for the printed version I'd probably tone it down a bit if it was mine (the dialect) but it sounds great read!

Even the white people in New Orleans speak with that particular dialect. Little oversensitive aren't you? Brush that chip off your shoulder...there is nothing racist here.
