Gary and Jack are Buddhists (I know Gary has been studying Zen and macrobiotics for decades). Keith is into the philosophy of Guirdjieff, which if you try to read seems very bizzare but Guirdjieff deliberately put in nonsense into his work to ward off half-hearted seekers of mystical truth. The thing they will all share is meditative practices.

Oh, mama, I've enjoyed every peace of this music. Rituals? Spiritualism? Come on, it's just jazz!

That being said, I will agree that spiritulism does require some ritual base and can help all of us and probably does help these guys in life which does come out.

It's more about having an open head space, not about going home and praying to something or ritualizing. Jack and Gary are into spiritualism, and keith probably, but all these guys were playing like this before they knew who they even were. Rituals, etc. do not correlate with how good or bad someone can play..that's obvious.

It is all about energy, and harmony. To everyone his own way to get the most out of his body and mind. Rituals are essential. Whatever they are (the rituals) is at full discretion of the artist who was lucky/unlucky enough to find/not find those that suited themselves.
