yes you are probably right there but they did influence the language with words like pfingin(penny) and stuff like that. well i can't dispute it as i was not around back then so i can't prove or disprove and it doesn't matter as its only a bitta banter with me. thanks

I took 4 years of it and lived in Dublin. Norway has nothing to do with the Irish language. It's mostly German (Geals), French, and Latin. For the record, Norway wasn't even populated when the Gaels and Celts populated Ireland.

norway influenced our language big time due to the vikings with pfingin which is old norse word for penny. we use this in irish but because of EURO it is nomore
