Sinclair1999 is sorta on da right track, u c before tkd there was a style called takian (not sure if its spelt lyk dat), then japan invaded korea n taught koreans karate but instead of completly destroying tkd they chose to mix the fighting styles to some degree but hey im no martial arts expert perhaps u should endour the practise of tkd to figure it out

you are an idiot for thinking that TKD demonstration techniques have anything to do with any application of TKD. Those techniques are exactly only for showing off, the "wow" factor. When TKD fighters pull off such moves in a fight, it's exactly to do the same thing...to show off that they can toy around with their opponents...please don't be so ignorant.

I bet, they have MIXED with other martial arts and only 10% is TKD. Do you actually think that the soldiers would be able to do a 540 degree kick with at least 10 kg from equipments holding on their bodies? And TKD fighters need to swing their arms when they do a jump kick, but what if their hands are hold guns? Would they be able to do it?
