ours was around 3 when she learned where to go potty, whenever she did it inthe house we would punish her for it and we would occasionally take her for a walk every two hours and would praise her for doing it outside in the back yard, first she did it int he yard but that stopped after a while automatically now she's just past one, won one throphy, has 3 diplomas and im doing a huntsdog course with her, its going great XD only thing is she does'n't swim unless you push her in ha ha

i have a chocolate spaniel who is now almost 2 years, when we first got him, we didn't use a method, we just took him outside alot, and got him used to going to door, when he has to go. Took a couple weeks and he got it, just reduced how many times we went outside little by little and he did fine

Im wondering how old is your dog? Generally is there a certain age they understand tricks better? I have a Corgi that is 3months and he still not 100% potty trained! btw I use the pad method.
