Remind me again who was apart of the British Empire in 1812? and where where was the British navy sailing out of? True Canada was not a self-governing dominion until 1867 but that does not mean Canada did not exist. Face it a buch of farmers, natives, just walked right up to the white house and burned it to the ground... while the red coats where busy in boston...
