@starryian007 Long as there are more people getting born on the planet there is going to be more specific artistic genres and musical movements. Variety is the fruit of society. I do agree that mainstream music seems to be hijacked by money-hungry labels supporting crap processed non-creative garbage. Genuine non-tacky music does not seem to be encouraged that much today. But there is deffinatley good music there. Money is probably the problem. People need to stop being synthetic "ego-monsters".

Just replace New Kids on the Block with Jonas Brothers and it is very apt.

@villageoblivia Yes, you have to 'seek it out' The other day I went into a record shop and browsed through assorted collections - there was an album from 1985 of hits of that year. I knew every record on that album - and so did my children, the guy next to me and the young assistant. I looked at an album released only a few months ago - all present could only name 1 or 2 'hits' from it- the rest, no-one had a clue. It's manufactured garbage bought by 10 year olds. Music lost its way in the 1990s

@starryian007 a lot of good music has been released since the 60's, sounds like you need to make more of an effort to seek it out.
