The number of child abuse cases within FLDS cults is staggering. Incest is also very common. They "believe" that the Prophet Joseph Smith intended men to have many wives, and also that people with dark skin are evil. (I think the Book of Mormon refers to them as Lamanites...although that may be the other, good, WHITE group of immigrants it was describing...) Basically a bunch of pedophiles with sexual repression issues and negrophobia wanted to continue their ways. Voila! FLDS is born.

The FLDS (fundamentalist latter day saints) was formed after the LDS came out of the Utah war. The U.S govt wanted to end polygamy. Basically, a bunch of Mormons still wanted to practice "plural marriage" with (often) underage girls, so they form a cult that practices the "old school" Mormon values. They are obsessive penny-pinchers, pedos, and misogynists who live with NO luxury, like the Amish, only the Amish are cool. Girls aren't educated properly, and are trained to serve and reproduce.

You know, when you read the FLDS gospels, you notice that a woman can not refuse to be married, because they believe that it's a revelation from god coming through the prophet. So when the lady says that girls have rights, she is definitely lying. If they actually refuse, they are desobedient and not in harmony with god, so... go figure!
