i don't think so. if you're thinking of war communism, ok, you're probably right. If you're thinking of "What is to be Done?" (1902), ok. But Lenin himself said those were very specific situations.
His most complete political writing, "State and revolution", is tottaly opposed to stalinism.

you're right. Lenin did use the Checka to attack his enemies but at the time there was a civil war and the whole of Russia was at stake and needed strong leadership. Lenin's testemant urged Stalin to be removed as general secretary of the communist party. Also Lenin and Trotsky did not have other Bolsheviks executed like Stalin did.

have you read all Lenin's writing to make such a conclusion7

nah that was marx. lenin believed in a centralised party leadership that controlled everything, controlling the transition to socialism. he was a dictator. stalin just took it to new extremes.

No. You're probably too lazy to study. YOU have no idea what socialism is. Stalinism is not socialism.
walkalone19 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
No way. Stalin WAS totalitarian. Lenin, Marx and Engels were not.

Actually, CUBA isn't a worker's state. Revolution there was made by a middle-class movement, basically. Though he never used as much violence as Stalin, Fidel is, after all, a dictator. He is a Stalinist. That's why Che Guevara left Cuba and tryed to export the revolution. Cuba would never reach socialism isolated. And never did.
