STRIKING is it if you know how and where on the body to do it. Only reason Gracie and grapplers would win MMA is there are 24 rules in this "no rules fight" - most of them limit strikers, not grapplers:No hitting back of head, no hitting neck, no hitting eyes... in short no hitting almost anywhere effective. Then Gracie uses MMA wins to sell his style to as "most effective self defense". On the street PLEASE NEVER GRAPPLE. Its' a disaster against a knife or multiple attackers. Hit and RUN!
